HOUSEMAN AND FALSHAW STEPS IN TO HELP COMMUNITY VENTURE

January 16, 2009

Houseman and Falshaw has taken on the COGS project at Gracious Street Methodist Church in Knaresborough following the demise of the previous contractor on site who went into liquidation in the autumn.

COGS stands for Centre on Gracious Street and is a community venture providing a whole range of services, from a pre-school nursery to lunches for elderly people. It is used by a host of community groups, including art classes, Knaresborough Players, charities and sports groups.

The project will refurbish the existing church hall, built in 1815, adding a lift to the first floor, a modern kitchen, a link building to the church, new toilet facilities and a new office.

COGs has raised funding for the scheme through events, grants, loans and donations.

Managing Director Stuart Falshaw said “We are pleased to be appointed to a project which will make a difference to the local community.”
