Grammar School to open new Sports Facility
Ripon
Grammar School, one of the highest-ranked co-educational grammar
schools in the country is opening its new Sports Hall, having
raised over £1,000,000 from donations from local people. The
Sports Hall has been built with funds raised in just one year in a
drive to improve the School’s sports facilities and the works were
carried out by Harrogate based contractor, Houseman & Falshaw.

Community centre bid hits £1m goal
THE £1 million mark
has been passed as fundraising continues for Knaresborough’s
newest community centre.
Members of Gracious Street Methodist Church are celebrating
passing the £1m barrier as the COGS (Centre on Gracious Street)
project reaches the final stages.

Renaissance of Settle and Giggleswick Riverside
There was cause for celebration down by the riverside in Settle
last week as work was completed to improve access from Settle
market square and along the Giggleswick bank of the River Ribble.
The project is dedicated to the inspiring vision of Deidre Cokell,
who worked so hard over many years for the benefit of the Settle
area.

TURF CUTTING MARKS START OF NEW SPORTS
HALL
The start of construction of a new £750,000 sports hall at Ripon
Grammar School has been marked with a turf cutting ceremony. The
new sports hall is being built by Houseman and Falshaw based in
Copgrove following a campaign to raise £1m, covering the cost of
the sports hall and a £250,000 Astroturf surface

CONTRACT WIN FOR HOUSEMAN AND FALSHAW
A major contract to
upgrade a road at the edge of Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough has
been won by North Yorkshire construction company Houseman and
Falshaw. The £500,000 work on Queen Margaret’s Road is designed
to make it ready for use by buses in the town’s park-and-ride
service as part of the Scarborough Integrated Transport Scheme.
